Top 10 Party Songs

Every good party needs catchy tunes to get people in a dancing mood. For me, there’s a checklist that those songs need to fulfil. Firstly, they need to be well-known, timeless tracks that everyone can sing along to. Secondly, they need to be uplifting or upbeat; it’s really difficult to have a good time let alone dance to a sad song! Lastly, it needs to be SOMETHING. With all of this in mind, I’ve chosen my top ten songs to tear up the dance floor.

10. Valerie by Mark Ronson feat. Amy Winehouse

Not everyone will know the lyrics, but this song is groovy enough to appeal to all generations. With a touch of old school Jazz and a good dance beat, you just can’t go wrong.

9. I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor

 I Will Survive Album Art
This seventies hit is a classic. The only downside is that it brings out all the awkward uncles and fathers out on the dance floor.

8. You’re the One That I Want by Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta

 Grease Soundtrack Album Art
I haven’t met anyone that hasn’t seen Grease and doesn’t know at least the chorus to this famous duet. It’s the sort of song that gets everyone involved and ensures your party will be a hit.

7. Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars

 Uptown Funk Album Art
Do I need to explain this choice? I think not.

6. Ballroom Blitz by The Sweet

 Ballroom Blitz Album Art
The lyrics for this classic rock song are what really make it memorable. Not everyone will know the song but they will definitely enjoy it. You have my personal guarantee.

5. Tainted Love by Soft Cell

 Tainted Love Album Art
This is one of those eighties classics that will get everyone singing along. It’s a proven party starter.

4. Time Warp from Rocky Horror Picture Show

 Time Warp Album Art
Not only does everyone know the lyrics to this track, but they also know the moves.

3. Monster Mash by Bobby ‘Boris’ Pickett and The Crypt-Kickers

 Monster Mash Album Art
Even though this song dates back to the sixties and younger generations may not be familiar with it, it’s just a fun song. What more can you ask of a party song?

2. Nutbush City Limits by Tina Turner

 Nutbush City Limits Album Art
Another song with set dance moves, this classic has a rockin’ guitar part that will get any guest in the mood to party.
