You recently won The Voice Israel in 2013, Congrats! How has being on such a big franchise like that changed your life?
Thank you! It has changed COMPLETELY. Thanks to The Voice I got discovered and I’m getting to fulfill my dream. Music flows in (my) veins and there is no better feeling than doing what you love and live for! Being on The Voice gave me a great experience and practice, and obviously huge exposure and the privilege to share my music with so many people.
“Can’t Keep Falling” is your latest single and has been getting quite a bit of attention, how has the response been so far?
Wow! Amazing! (I fell) in love with this song from the first day we wrote it. The video premiered on 4 magazines and I have received fantastic reviews and I’m so, so grateful. The song reached number 1 on iTunes Israel in less than 48 hours, and (has) fans of all ages. I have received many home videos of people singing the song (even parents who film their little children singing and dancing the song, it’s SO ADORABLE!!!). I’m sharing their videos on my story on Instagram- so if you want to be there too- DM me on @LinaMusicOfficial
You’ve been working with some big names lately, do you feel like you’ve learnt a lot from their experience?
Absolutely. I learn so much from the people around me, from my amazing team and from musicians and artists I get to work with. I have so much to learn, and I’m the luckiest person on earth to (be) able to work with the best people in the music industry. I would like to talk about Maegan Cottone who I wrote “Can’t Keep Falling” with. She’s one of the most brilliant people I’ve (met). She’s also super funny and I love being locked in the studio with her for days. She’s the best. Also Karen Poole, she’s so talented (and) she could touch my soul easily. I’m so lucky I’ve (been able) to work with them and other talented people.
You’ve been working on your debut album, can you tell us a bit about that?
Yes! I’ve been working on my debut album “Walking On A Tightrope” for over a year. I’ve got some amazing songs that I can’t wait to share with the world! There are some more danceable tracks, but there are also some great ballads where I sing my heart out. The album is a combination of electro-pop and ethnic rock, adding some of my own personal ethnic-sound to some tracks. I co-wrote some of the songs, and other songs (were) written by the world’s best writers, and produced by the world’s finest producers, such as Grammy award winner Jerry Wonda (Fugies, Justin Bieber, Shakira) and the coolest, phenomenal U.K. Producer knightstarr.
Finally, what have you got planned for the future? Any tours or performances?
Well, we are now promoting the single and I will be performing in clubs in Europe and U.K. and hopefully soon a long tour!!! Stay tuned!
