April’s 2017 Christmas Playlist

So it’s the day before Christmas, and if you’re sane, you’re only now beginning to listen to the Chrissy tunes. As someone who works in retail, especially an outlet that sells CDs (yes they still exist), I feel confident that over the past month I have discovered the best (and worst) Xmas songs. So if you’re searching for that perfect blend of traditional and contemporary, take this list and I promise you it will not make your eardrums burst nor will it make you cry tears of Christmas-past.

1. White Winter Hymnal by Pentatonix

2. Santa Baby by Ariana Grande (featuring Liz Gilles)

3. O Holy Night by Leona Lewis

4. Santa Claus is Back in Town by Elvis Presley

5. Your Hallelujah by Leona Lewis

6. Winter Wonderland/Don’t Worry Be Happy by Pentatonix (featuring Tori Kelly)

7. Ave Maria by Leona Lewis

8. Hallelujah by Pentatonix

9. Love Me Like You (Christmas Mix) by Little Mix

10. Silent Night by Pentatonix

11. Amazing Grace by Human Nature

12. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer by Human Nature

13. Do You Hear What I Hear by Whitney Houston

14. Here Comes Santa Claus (Right Down Santa Claus Lane) by Elvis Presley

15. O Come, All Ye Faithful by Pentatonix

16. White Christmas by Human Nature

17. Merry Christmas Baby by Elvis Presley

18. Mary, Did You Know? by Pentatonix

19. Thank God it’s Christmas by Queen

20. Santa Claus is Coming to Town by Pentatonix

21. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy by Pentatonix

22. Coventry Carol by Pentatonix

23. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas by Sam Smith

24. Joy to the World by Pentatonix

25. Hark! The Herald Angels Sing by Pentatonix

26. Sleigh Ride by Human Nature (featuring Jessica Mauboy)

So there you have it, a list of bearable Christmas songs as composed by a retail worker. Yes, I know there’s quite a few Pentatonix on there, but when you listen to their music you’ll (hopefully) understand why. Also, you’ll notice Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas is not on the list. That is because it’s overplayed and no one has time for that song anymore. It is also worthy to note that all Elvis songs on the list are recorded with the Royal Philharmonic, which means double the quality. So without further ado… MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

P.S. If you’re trying to ruin Christmas, definitely put Justin Bieber and Busta Rhymes’ Drummer Boy on repeat.
